G.A.P. established the Better Chicken Project to reinvent the modern-day broiler chicken and change the chicken industry for good.

As the poultry industry has pushed for greater meat yields and lower costs, these efficiencies have created unintended consequences for the health and welfare of the chickens. G.A.P. knew it was time to drive change and our collaboration has caught on.

Many restaurants, retailers, and brands have signed up to support the Better Chicken Commitment, which means they will be sourcing G.A.P. Better Chicken Project Certified chicken for their customers as supply becomes available. We already have several G.A.P. Certified chicken farmers who meet our new better breed requirements, and we’re onboarding more to satisfy these commitments so that you can enjoy better chicken wherever you eat and shop.
