Grilling You Can Feel Good About

By September 9, 2019October 28th, 2019Audience: Everyone, G.A.P. Meal Ideas

Do you love cooking on the grill? Could you use a few new recipes to add to the rotation? We thought so. We partnered with the popular Instagram account, Over the Fire Cooking @overthefirecooking, this summer to serve up some fresh BBQ inspiration for grill masters everywhere.

Derek, Over the Fire’s creator, is always on the lookout for the best cuts of meat to use in his videos and blog, which makes a partnership with G.A.P. a no-brainer. He recognizes that products raised to G.A.P.’s comprehensive farm animal welfare standards means higher quality, great-tasting meat. We recently worked with Derek to share our animal welfare message with his community of over one million meat lovers.

Derek loves to cook beef, his protein of choice, so he produced two videos using G.A.P. Animal Welfare Certified beef: Tarragon Dijon Tri-Tip Beef and Chipotle Black Pepper Smoked Beef Ribs. You can check out his videos below, and view the entire blog post here.

G.A.P. positively impacts the lives of over 416 million farm animals each year through our standards and labeling program, which differentiates between the levels of animal welfare achieved on-farm. Every single product with a G.A.P. label has come from a farm that has been audited by a third-party certifier to make sure our comprehensive standards are being met. G.A.P. makes sure that:

  • Every farm is audited – not just a sample of farms – even farms that market within a larger supplier group;
  • Audits occur every 15 months; and
  • Farms are audited in every season (throughout the lifecycle of the animal).

When you see the G.A.P. Animal Welfare Certified label, you can feel good knowing the animals were raised with NO antibiotics, NO added hormones, and the animals were fed an all-vegetarian diet. Want to learn more? Visit our website
