Exciting new position with Global Animal Partnership – Aquaculture Welfare Specialist. We are looking for experienced help to draft aquaculture welfare standards and lead the way as GAP addresses fish welfare in addition to our pioneering work with cattle, sheep, chickens, and more.
GAP has provided a grant-in-aid of research to the University of Guelph, Ontario for a two-year research project. This is an important step toward our goal of replacing 100% of chicken breeds that result in poor welfare outcomes by 2024 with breeds meeting specified welfare outcomes within our 5-Step® Rating Program.
Atkins Ranch in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, which supplies grass-fed lamb to Whole Foods Market stores across the US and Canada, has been certified to Global Animal Partnership’s (GAP) 5-Step® Animal Welfare Rating program for meat sheep, becoming the first Step 4: Pasture Centered sheep program in the world.
